I created this kit with turmoil and chaos, as I struggled to find beauty in the darker world of something new: Covid-19. Trying to create with little time and only moments of creativity with massive amounts of stress. I had to remind myself that I was not trapped, that I was free. My choice.
I was working an essential job, I had to go to work, while everything was dead around me. I fought the feeling of fear, when I knew I couldn't get my most basic needs at the local markets. It wasn't available.
I reminded myself that these things were out of my hands. Some of my choices felt forced and far removed from me. Then I realized: I still had choices. I didn't have to do anything I didn't want to, I was just afraid and I accepted it.
I remembered I've known worse, that I was grateful for the beautiful things I had. I remembered through my life, my music, through Spring, through colors slashing through these dark times. I created "I'm Free" in spurts through the beginning of Spring. I hope you can see the bits of darkness surrounding by your own magic in it, as it inspired me.
