~Grunge Chic~
This tutorial is for those who have working
knowledge with Paint Shop Pro.

called “Grunge Candy”

are snagging!
*Mask: Dead Sexy by Diane with Candy’s

Please say thank you for her hard work while you
are snagging!
*Font: Lucida Handwriting. This is a PTU
font and can not be provided,
But any cursive font will do!
Please SAVE often!!
Let’s get started.
Save the mask into your mask folder in Corel before
opening up Paint Shop. This is usually located: C/Program Files/Corel/Corel
Paint Shop/Masks.
Open up a template of your choice, I used:
missy_tagtemplate167.
Hide the very top layer (copyright) and the very
bottom layer (background).
Top tool bar-Image-Resize-125%, with all layers
checked-Ok.
Open up your kit and have ready.
Click on your background frame to make active on
your template, and create a new raster layer. Flood fill with a paper pattern of
your choice. I used: Paper 10.
*Tip: To use a paper as a pattern. You need
to have the paper open in Paint Shop. Click on the foreground layer (top box) of
your color palettes up at the top right of the page. Once opened you will see a
box with three square options at the top. Color, Gradient, Pattern. Click on
Pattern, and use the little drop down arrow to choose your choice, and you will
see the paper you have open. Click on this, hit ok. Then Use your flood fill
tool and fill the raster layer with this pattern.
Now click on your background frame again, and Top
Toolbar- Selections-Select All-Selections-Float- Selections-Defloat-Selections-Invert,
click on the new paper layer and hit delete on your keyboard. Now Deselect.
*Tip: To Deselect: Top
toolbar-Selections-Select None.
You will use this process for each layer of the
template you decide to use.
I used Paper 8 for the heart layer & the
frames layer of template.
I used Paper 3 for the ric racs.
It’s easier to merge the two together and then do
the process.
Leave the Paper 3 open for your next step.
Click on the hidden background (white layer) to
make active. Create a new raster layer. This should have brought a new layer
above your background layer.
Flood fill this layer with Paper 3.
Now load your mask, to do this, go to your top tool
bar,
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from disk, with these settings:
Go to your layers on the right, right click and
“merge the group” of three layers.
Now open the elements and choose several elements
of your choice. I used:
String2 – Resize by 60%. Copy and paste as a
new layer. Drag this layer to the top of your layers and use your pick tool and
position this string above your heart template layer. See mine to reference.
WireFence – Resize by 90%, Copy and paste as
a new layer. Drag this layer all the way to the bottom of your template layers
but above your main white hidden layer.
Use your pick tool and move a little to the right.
HeartTag – Resize by 60%, Copy and paste as
a new layer. Drag this layer up above your frames layer. And make sure it’s
positioned in the middle.
Glitter3-Copy and paste as a new layer. Drag
this layer to just above your wire fence layer. Move to the top right of the tag
so it peeks a little out from the frames. Duplicate once, and move the other to
the bottom right.
Copy and Paste your tube of choice as a new layer,
I used a fabulous Elias tube called: Rock Me.
No need to resize or anything. Just make sure it’s dragged to the very top of
your layers, so it sits on top.
Now add your name to the little heart tag in
cursive font. I used a font called: Lucida Handwriting, size 20,
foreground null, background black. Add a gradient glow/diffuse if you prefer.
Add any drop shadows you would like to the
elements.
Now add your copyright and watermark.
Save Again, and resize to your preference.
Leave as default PSP image for tag offers later.
Right Click, Copy merged, paste as a new image.
Save as a PNG. (for a transparent layer). Or JPG for a white background for your
tags.
You are done.
